FM Ertuğruloğlu “The diplomatic status of the EU office should be examined”

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu stated that the diplomatic status of the EU office in North Cyprus should be examined.
Ertuğruloğlu issued a written statement, regarding the subject “The EU maintains a so-called support office with diplomatic immunity in the TRNC, which it does not recognize as a state. This office is sabotaging the status and foundations of the TRNC in every field. The EU is not even embarrassed by acting this way.
How can the EU explain the inconsistency and contradiction of having a diplomatic mission in a country it does not recognize?”
Claiming that there are circles that admire and adore the EU being positioned in North Cyprus, Ertuğruloğlu said that those who are living off the EU are comfortable with sabotaging the state.
“On the one hand, the South of Cyprus has admitted to using the EU to prevent the initiatives of North Cyprus to be politically recognized, and on the other hand, with great arrogance, demanded that the EU take on an active role in the initiatives regarding Cyprus” Ertuğruloğlu said.
