Fire in Çatalköy under control

A fire broke out in Çatalköy (Agios Epiktitos) yesterday.

According to the police report, a fire broke out in the river bed in the Kıbrıs Evleri area in Çatalköy. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The police fire department, the teams of the Forestry Department and locals along with water tankers belonging to the Municipality of Çatalköy – Esentepe (Ayos Amvrosios) tackled the fire by land, and the Forestry Department by air with a helicopter.

It has been announced that the fire has been brought under control.
