Chamber of Commerce of both communities want new crossing points

Deputy Special Adviser to the Secretary-Genera Colin Stewart and both Chambers of Commerce Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce have met yesterday.

According to the UN social media page, the urgency of strengthening economic and commercial ties across the island as a way of keeping prospects alive for a future solution was at the of the discussion.

Open and constructive discussion around the creation of enabling conditions for increased intra-island trade, including through focus on youth and improved ease of doing business also talked over at the meeting.

During the meeting it has been emphasised that greater economic activity between the two sides makes good business sense and would have positive impact on the lives of people across the island.

At the meeting , both Chambers strongly encourage more trade opportunities and came to an understanding that the one way of doing it is through new or more efficient crossing points.
