The Biologist Association announced that they are ready for a dispute over forest land being transferred.
Criticizing statements made by the Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu on low forest areas detected for tourism investments, the head of the Biologist Association Hasan Sarpten said that they will in no way allow any steps to be taken in this regard and that all efforts against the issue will be put forward.
Sarpten, noted that a law under the name of Transfer and Lending of Low Forest Lands was enacted in 2003.
Stating that 168 acres of forest land between Iskele and Bafra areas were leased to 14 different investors just the same way and only 6 facilities were brought back to life. “In the last 20 years, tens of thousands of acres of forest land have been donated with this law” Sarpten added.
